The Vacancy

We are recruiting for a Full Time OTC Retail Category Manager. This position will be 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will be based in our Head Office, known as Horizon, located on Buttermilk Lane, in Chesterfield, 3-4 days per week and the remainder of the week visiting branches, to ensure implementation of OTC business plans are in place.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Be accountable for the commercial delivery of retail across the key KPI's; Sales, Margin and Funding. Ultimately delivery the forecasted profit.
  • Proactively manage the product, pricing and promotional mix to optimize sales and profit. 
  • Develop and Implement best practice Commercial, Merchandising and Operational solutions.
  • Develop and implement the strategy for the retail side of the business. Lead the direction of travel.
  • Manage the relationships with our supplier base, negotiate JBPs, pricing and other support.
  • Engage our store colleagues and area managers on the strategy and provide regular updates on performance
  • Manage and update key stakeholders internally on any challenges and provide solutions.
  • Proactive in seeking out feedback from Customers and Store Colleagues on ways to continually optimise our offering.
  • Conduct regular market and competitor reviews to identify future opportunities
  • Manage a small team in supporting the delivery of the agreed plans.
